Knox Massey

Executive Director, Invest Georgia

Knox Massey is Executive Director for the Invest Georgia Fund and the Invest Georgia Program. He has served in this position since the inception of the program in 2014. Both the Program and the Fund were created by legislation passed in the Georgia General Assembly in 2013. The Invest Georgia mission is to fund, build, and grow innovative Georgia companies and Georgia-based entrepreneurs. Doing so helps to create new innovations, new entrepreneurs, and new employees within Georgia.

The Invest Georgia Fund has received allocations from the State of $50,000,000 since 2014. Currently, the Invest Georgia Fund has thirteen Georgia-based venture capital or private equity funds in the portfolio. These thirteen funds have helped to fund and create seventy-two Georgia-based companies where two thousand, three hundred sixty Georgia-based employees now work.

Prior to Invest Georgia, Massey was Executive Director of the Atlanta Technology Angels, head of the SE sales division at AOL (sold to Time Warner), head of New Media advertising at WestWayne (now 22squared), and SE sales at the New York Time Regional Newspaper Group (sold in 2011).

Massey holds an MBA from Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
